The AMC Clinical laboratory is a comprehensive Laboratory, Licenced by the Ministry of Health  (Licence 391) to perform testing in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, General Immunology, Serology and Microbiology. It is also an Accredited Laboratory according to CYS EN ISO 15189:2012 No.L095.

The Laboratory maintains relationships with other collaborating laboratories for any specialized tests, enabling us to offer full range of testing for our clients.

The director is Mr. Zarvou Marios , specialist in Medical Laboratory Microbiology, who brings over 40 years of experience as director of clinical laboratories.

Our highly qualified group of Medical Laboratory Scientists has vast experience in their respective fields and is trained to answer all of our clients’ questions.

Accreditation is achieved by maintaining Laboratory sections and associated services at a high standard. We do this through participation in external quality assurance programs and maintaining a comprehensive Internal Quality Control Program in all areas of testing.

Every 8 hours of testing, 2-3 commercial control specimens are analysed for each assay and the results obtained are compared against a defined acceptable range. Only when these results are within this defined range, indicating that the instrument and reagents are functioning normally, are patient results accepted and released. Atypical or highly abnormal results are confirmed by repeat analysis with original sample or dilution if necessary. Results are reviewed and verified by at least one staff and the laboratory manager prior to release of the final patient report.

The Microbiology section is visited every fortnight by Prof Allon Moses and Ran Nir Paz from Hadassah University and is collaborating with the Hadassah Microbiology Laboratory.

We perform and report all routine assays daily, within an hour after receipt of sample and non-routine assays are to be reported within 48-72 hours. Significant results are notified to the prescribing doctors by verbal communication. Rapid results allow for faster patient diagnosis and recovery.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 18.00
