Surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs inside the thorax (the chest), meaning conditions of the heart (heart diseases) and lungs (lung diseases).

Surgery is performed with a highly skilled staff of surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, nurses, and registered first assistants. The operating theatres are fully equipped with the most up-to-date surgical and perfusion equipment. Patients are cared for, post-operatively, in the intensive care unit where they are vigilantly monitored and managed by a team of doctors and nurses. Patient outcomes are monitored using a Society of Thoracic Surgery (STS) approved software (Axis-Dendrite PATS). The center has performed a series of several high-risk cases with severe left ventricular dysfunction achieving excellent results. Current outcomes compare favorably with the data published by the STS and European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS).
